職場の同僚であるネイティブアメリカ人（Jさん）が仕事で用いている英文表現を紹介いたします。（機密事項に配慮しなければなりませんので、私の方で多少修正を加えております。）
Jさんは配属されたばかりの頃、その日にやったことや感想などを報告書にまとめて毎日提出していました。但し、日本語のライティングに難があったのでほとんど全てを英語で書いていました。その報告書の中から印象に残った表現を紹介いたします。
（ ）内の日本語訳は私が追加したものです。参考にしてください。
「Today’s testing concerned a new device created by the XYZ company.」（本日はXYZ社が開発した新しい装置についてテストしました。）
「To prepare for the installation of the device A, it was necessary to remove the device B as well as replacing the part C in order to install the part D.」（装置Aを取り付ける前に装置Bを取り外す必要がありました。同様に、部品Dを付けるためには部品Cを外さねばならなかったのです。）

「Once completed a series of tests using 4 different tools (E, F, G, H,) were conducted.」（完了後、4個の異なる工具(E, F, G, H,)を使って一連のテストを実施しました。）
「The order was as follows: installation of a new tool, an adjustment, and then running a program which held the tool at increasing heights (10 – 100).」（順番は次の通りです。新しい工具を取り付け、調整を行い、そして、プログラムを走らせ工具の高さを10〜100㎜まで増やしました。）
「Y-san using a PC connected to the controller measured the fluctuation while holding at a certain position for 10 seconds.」（Yさんがパソコンをコントローラーへつなぎ、変動を測定しました。測定中は約10秒間、特定の位置を保ちました。）
「The tool E was problematic in that there were issues with the differences between the input value and the output value.」（工具Eには問題がありました。入力値と出力値に差があったからです。）
「A problem that S-san from XYZ company said he would investigate upon his return to XYZ company.」（XYZ社のSさんは、帰ったらすぐに問題の調査をすると言っていました。）
「I feel I have a much deeper understanding of the equipment. I only wish it was enough to help answer some of the issues that we encountered during testing. I suppose that will come with time though.」（私は設備について以前よりもずっと深く理解できたように感じています。しかし、テスト中に起こったトラブルを解決できるレベルには至っていません。そのレベルに到達するにはまだまだ時間が必要だと思います。）
「I have no questions for today, just wanted to express how much fun it was.」（今日のところで質問はありません。とても楽しんで仕事をできました。）
