NHKは公共放送などと言われていますが、どちらかというと権力者にとって都合のよい報道を優先して行ってきました。政権にとってはNHKは基本的に応援団であり続けてきたのです。従って、たまに権力にとって都合の悪い報道をしたりすると、『「中立で偏りの無い」報道をしろ！』と政治家からクレームが入ったものです。
しかし最近は政権にとって都合の良い報道姿勢が更に強化されています。自民党の安倍総理のお友達がNHKのトップとして送り込まれたからです。籾井さんというらしいですが、就任の記者会見でも露骨な発言をしていましたね。彼の真意は、「NHKは政権の忠実な犬でなければならない」ということです。この人は戦時中の従軍慰安婦制度を正当化する発言をしており、人間としての基本的な品位・良心が欠落していると判断せざるを得ません。
暗澹たる気持ちになっていたのですが、最近少し救われるニュースを英字新聞で目にしました。172人の元NHK社員が籾井さんの辞任を要求したというのです。現NHKトップで、かつ現職総理大臣のお友達でもある人に歯向かえば、元社員とはいえ色々と不利益を被る可能性があるはずです。しかし、それらの葛藤を乗り越えて勇気ある意思表示をしたのは評価すべきだと思います。逆に考えると、それだけNHKが危機的状態だということです。結果として、NHK受信料支払いを拒否する人も増えているようです。

Japan Press Weeklyの2014年7月19日付記事「172 ex-NHK workers demand removal of Momii」を以下に引用します。上記の私の考えを参考にしながら読んでみてください。
「Regarding a series of controversial remarks made by NHK President Momii Katsuto, 172 former employees of the public broadcaster issued a statement on July 18 calling on the NHK board of governors to advise Momii to resign or to remove him from the position.
Among these ex-employees are well-known former directors, news anchors, and announcers.
As a reason for pushing for the president’s resignation, the statement points out as follows: as seen in his remarks at the inaugural press conference in January that “NHK cannot say ‘left’ when the government says ‘right’”, Momii fails to understand the nature of NHK as a broadcaster independent from the state; his statement justifying the Imperial Japanese military’s sexual slavery system (the so-called “comfort women” issue) is an attempt to fabricate history; and the string of the president’s improper remarks causes NHK reporters to face difficulty in obtaining news materials and drives more viewers to refuse to pay subscription fees.
In conclusion, it expresses the hope that NHK will become an impartial news organ both in name and reality.」
